Always leaves

Autumn with its many leaves
Falling brown, lifeless, sheaves
Lying around my sluggish feet
Leaves in lazy brown sheets

Always leaves, that's the sign of autumn
Whether of the seasons or of the columns
That lies beneath sods of flesh
Around sinewy muscles and a veiny mesh

Leaves of wet tears
Browns and slow fears
Furrows of salty streams
Days like hazy dreams

Always leaves, that's the weather in autumn
No need tto wonder, just can't assume
They always will leave and leave the browns behind
You'll face the cruel winds with a hazy mind

Be prepared 'cause it'll soon be autumn again
And though now there's sun and cool rain
Be sure that pretty soon autumn'll be here
And then you may have all to fear
